All About Me

Hey there! My name is Lianne and I started writing about my food since 2005.

Being here in Melbourne has brought out my interest in cooking and             baking. I will never skip the cook books aisle when I’m at a book store and my daily reads are always food blogs to get inspiration! Because it’s really expensive eating out, I tend to cook things that I crave and recreate something that I’ve tried outside. Experimenting in the kitchen is one of my favourite past times! (:

I am obsessed with cupcakes and would never turn down a dessert, even if it’s a piece of chocolate. Especially if it’s a piece of dark chocolate. People might argue that I’m equally obsessed with food and that I will not deny!

Growing up in Singapore, I am pretty much surrounded by food all the time! Especially at home, alongside my mum and my grandma. Since a very young age, I have been helping out in the kitchen. I remember the very first time I peeled a potato, I peeled my finger as well! A painful yet memorable experience, as it made me want to learn cooking even more! Got the privilege to learn from the people I love. (:

Cooking for loved ones and close friends is what I really enjoy doing. Together with my baby, we are the perfect team. He would make his special dishes, and I would make mine, plus dessert. Fridays were usually the days we have pot luck or dinner parties but now it could be any other day! The smiles on the faces of the people who tried our food is what makes me enjoy cooking so much.

So with all the love I could possibly put into cooking, I do hope you guys enjoy the recipes and food that I’ve tried! Thanks for dropping by!

ps : I love to hear from you so do feel free to leave a comment or email me at lianne [dot] low@gmail [dot] com !

  2. Hi Lianne,
Thanks for directing me to your blog via IG. I cook for exactly the same reasons as you, but I didn’t have the privilege of getting hands on experience from a young age. I really peeled my 1st potato in 2005 when I came to Melbourne (from KL) and never thought I would be capable of what I am now. Will be following your blog and IG very closely for ideas and recipes! Love it here ;)
